From vet to business owner
The economic downturn makes everything harder - including transitioning to civilian life. That's why when a vet becomes a successful business owner, it's our job to give him the spotlight!
Meet Henry Verdejo, Jr., from New Haven, Connecticut:
I spent a career in the USAF, most of my career was as an F-16 Crew Chief in numerous worldwide locations. When I retired and transitioned it was a scary deal, with no certainties. With the way our economy is now, it's got to be twice as hard to get established with a steady job and be able to support your families. So what I did was I started a home-based business where I would be in control of my finances, working alongside awesome winners and leaders who have been highly successful.
Henry also wrote that, "the satisfaction that one feels having built a successful business from the ground up is a feeling of accomplishment that is unparalleled in 21st Century America."
If you're a veteran or have a veteran in your family, we'd like to hear from you: What made your transition successful? What was the hardest part, and what gave you the biggest boost?
