Message from Bud Selig

Major League Baseball is a social institution with important social responsibilities. We understand and appreciate our unique position and make every effort to lend a helping hand to those who are in need and to recognize and champion those who make our communities better places to live.

Major League Baseball also has a long and proud history of supporting our troops. For generations Baseball has undertaken patriotic activities to acknowledge veterans and current members of the military who serve and have served our country.

We are proud to be a part of welcomebackveterans.org and pleased to have the opportunity to provide invaluable support to the veterans of Afghanistan and Iraq and their families. Together, we can help these brave men and women make a successful transition to civilian life.

- Allan H. (Bud) Selig
Commissioner of Major League Baseball
